◆I get average grades in all of my subjects except English，but sometimes I make stupid mistakes.除了英语，我其他学科的成绩很平常，但是有时我会犯愚蠢的错误。
(1)except常用于肯定句中，but常用于否定句中。
eg：Everyone is here except Jenny.除了詹妮都来了。
There is nothing but a card.除了卡片什么也没有。
【拓展】besides 也是介词，意思是“除……之外(尚有)”，包括besides 之后的内容。
eg：He also knows Japanese besides English.除了英语他也懂日语。
Two other boys are on duty besides you.除了你还有两名男孩今天值日。
(2)make mistakes表示“犯错误”，还可以说make a mistake。
(3)【辨析】stupid，foolish，silly
stupid指“智力差的，反应迟钝的”。foolish指“无头脑的，缺乏常识的”。silly指“头脑简单，不懂事，傻头傻脑”，foolish很少用于口语。stupid和silly在口气上最侮辱的口气是stupid，最轻、最常用的是silly。
◆We all have our strong points and weak points.我们每个人都有强项和弱项。
weak作形容词，在本句中表示“能力弱的”，后接at/in sth.。同义词组是be bad at/in，反义词组是be good at/in。
eg：He was weak in math，but good at English.他数学差但英语好。
